I never considered this option with amps cos' of the different operating voltage.
AFAIK, a conversion is REALLY easy and cheap to do, you just need to get a step-down transformer. No mods on the amp required.
Guitars: '78 Les Paul Pro / '89 SG Special/ '04 Gibson Les Paul Classic 3 pickup / Jackson Star/ Endres Tele / Fernandes Rhoads/ ''74 Hohner MIJ strat/ 2 Partscasters
Amps: Depends on when you ask. I got tired of constantly updating this section lol

Yeah a step-down transformer is the only way short of swapping the tranny in the amp but I was looking for other options that wouldn't need any extra equipment to make the amp work.
I dunno man. Maybe I should seriously consider this.

Yeah dude, it's one more thing to plug in but who cares.... the transformer is not too big and it's also cheap as hell, I can get a 500w step-down here for about$20 bucks. Just get one and get your amps from the US you will save a LOT of money in the long run.

To be fair though, new Marshall's are way cheaper in the EU than the US.

If you were buying a new V-Rock from Trace, couldn't he just build it to meet your country's power specs from the get go? It would seems like he could, but idk.

He most definitely can. So can Fortin and Splawn.

I don't wanna buy used, Billy.
Dude Billy offered to do it for you, he can certainly tell of there's something wrong with it. I don't understand people not wanting to buy used you can save a TON of $$$!!! That said while I love Marshall's they do need a good bit of volume to give up the goods even when using a boost IMO. Something to consider vs the boutique variants which often can give up the goods at lower volumes (I'm still talking gig volumes though). I've by far bought nearly ALL my gear used fwiw.
I mean unless your girl was a Virgin you bought that used too, right? But you don't wanna buy used gear? lol
edit: Hey Naturalbornboy, I hope you know I was just kidding around about the girl thing, sorry if I caused offense, mang. I like 'em used myself lol.

Had a JMP that Trace modded, Jose style. It had more bass when I got it back that was too much for me but I sent it back and he adjusted it for me. He will work with you just have to describe exactly what you're looking for.
Don't have the amp anymore but it was pretty cool.
Damn man, I've wanted one of those forever...just never had the cash when one came up. Let me know if you ever want to get rid of it.
But yeah, anyone looking at Voodoo stuff...do it! Trace is awesome and will get you where you want to be if you are willing to work with him. I've been a Voodoo user since 2002 or so. Started with an 18 watt Witchdoctor that was one of Traces personal amps. Sold that like a dumb ass (it passed through a few hands, you may have seen it posted around) but picked up another Witchdoctor a few years later. 100 watts this time and I still have it.
Also, danhops, if you're lurking around....I want that WD preamp!

Ah, someone that knows about the CP-100. That amp is a secret weapon, from blues to metal. I picked mine up relatively cheap (about what a used JCM800 costs). I had it sent directly to Trace for a tune up and gave him carte blanche. He did a full Platinum on it, Mercury all around, Loop, the works. There aren't many of these out there, not sure why - it's a crazy awesome amp. I should really use it more, but stuck in a multi-channel gear right now. It's time will come again, it's too good not to.

Yeah, IIRC, the CP circuit hit a year or so before the production Hex and WD amps came out. Was supposed to be a little more modern sounding than the WD and had a bit more gain...didn't seem like that circuit stuck around very long but I've always wanted to try one. Seems like I remember something about a a control on the amp that would alter the overall voicing too but I could be thinking of something else...
Also, has anyone turned Trace on to this site? Would be a welcome addition for sure. One of the best things about HCAF back in the day was guys like Trace and James Peters posting often.

Yes, there's a little three way toggle on the face that changes the voicing I call it Blues/Rock/Metal toggle.

I'm going to talk to him on Monday. I'll let him know about the site and the thread. I'm sure he'd love to chime in.
