GOBOs AS Room

Post by Guvnor »

Hey, guys, I'm looking for some information. I've searched the forum and haven't seen anything on this topic yet. I just moved into a house with an unfinished basement. I've got about 900 square feet total and I've got my recording gear set up in one corner, with my monitors about 12-18" from the wall. Back home I had some acoustic treatment and it was awesome, but I was working in a much smaller (one room) space, so it was easy to control the environment.

My thought right now is to construct a room with moveable GOBOs - it would allow me to control room size, the amount of treatment, etc. My question is, is anyone else doing this? Any tips for making it work? I will be recording live vocals and live guitar, acoustic and electric. Everything else will be recorded direct (bass) or triggering samples (EZD/Superior via an Alesis USB kit).

Thanks for the info!
