Definitely a great unit. I used the Recto Cab sim with the R121 mic and it was a great smooth sound for the FOH guy to work with.
I am trying to simplify my setup a bit - I was using this guy with a load box and my DRRI for a while. Pulling my load box and the C.A.B. and going back to a mic now. Trying to convince the sound guy to put a couple torpedo live units into the budget for next year

The only way the CAB is good for the standard amp setup is if you use a load box or attenuator with a line out. You can run from there into the CAB then to FOH. This is how I ran it for the last few months. I also did some recording with it this way as well.
You could also use it in a silent recording situation if your amp has a series effects loop.
The CAB is best as a power amp/cab sim for pedalboard rigs. You could take a bogner blue foundation pedal and use the cab to provide a power amp and cab sim on the back side.
