I agree completely. Thin, harsh, trebly bleh.

Also, in before/for the raep.

Whatever happened to that troll who was going on all of the boards proclaiming that he had unlocked the secret to Slash's tone?

Didn't mind his toanz as much as his playing. :nlisten:

Except for the middle solo in November Rain, I think he's a sloppy, disorganized, mindless, noodely mess.

I dont even bother thinking about guitar tones for a band or music like that, in the grand scheme of things a song like that is more about the music/lyrics than the guitar tone

Slash seem to have inconsistent tone, sometimes it would be great and other times kinda shitty, i kinda like the tones on these songs, overall it was good to my ears

It was secretly actually Slash, and he went away when nobody wanted to know.

+1

There are some clips of him with a decent LP tone but there are lots of crappy ones as well.

I remember on the early Velvet Revolver interviews how Slash dogged Dean DeLeo's sound on the STP albums. That bummed me out, I'm a fan of both bands and their sound is great, and works, in their own respective bands.

I find it hard to hate LP tones from the pro artists. The ones I couldn't stand are just nobodies at your local music store who can't play worth shit.

And I love the 4 Non Blondes. Too bad drugs ruined Linda Perry, they were a promising talent.
