Hello! From South Arkansas!

Post by RobChapman »

Hello. I have been playing guitar for 8 years. I am 18 years old. I am a proud owner of a fender custom shop deluxe strat, carvin v3 head 100w. And a orange 2x12 cab. And a line 6 pod hd500x. And some boss stomp boxes :) I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY AMP!

so here is the rundown!
When I have my guitar plugged into my amp (which is connected to my cab). I can play for about 45 minutes and this horrid buzz comes out of nowhere and last for a couple minutes then goes away. Happens on every channel. Sometimes when i turn amp on. And then after a few minutes it does buzzes and goes away after a minute. And then. Comes back and goes away. But it fades out. It's not like an instant turn off. But when it starts buzzing it is instant. It doesn't fade in. I have. 4 el34 groove tube matched tubes. And 5 12ax7 preamp tubes. Also gt brand. If someone can help me out. It would be much appreciated

ps: tubes are biased correctly All tubes glow. And when it is buzzing and i touch any knobs it gets a little quieter!

Lol at your name.

Have you tried a different guitar? A different lead? And different tubes. These could be the most likely causes of your buzzing.
The lead could be faulty a loose connection or ground issue in your guitar, or a tube on it's way out.
It's could be more but that's a good start.

Also have you tried a different power point in a different part of the room (ground/picking up noise from a light etc).
Gear
Gibson les paul Traditional, les Paul signature T, U.S strat, Japanese Strat , 1970s Greco Tele, Charvel So-Cal Pro Mod style 1, Fernandes TEJ-85, 70's Greco tele. Marshall JVM 205c (Dan Gower modded), JCM900 SL-X, some pedals, Yamaha THR10

I have tried diff guitars same result. Not different tubes bc music store here wants me to pay 80 dollars for tubes that should be 40$ for a quad. I heard if you tap on top of tube with an eraser it'll check if it is microphonic. I will test that tomorrow. Now that I think of it it did only make that buzz in that one wall socket at my church.
