Goodbye, old girl. You were a good 'un

Looks like they've already got me old randall up for grabs. I'll miss her.

She's a good one, if you're into the Randall thing.

I had the tube version of that.......I kind of miss it. It was great for downtuned stoner stuff.

Yeah. They're killers. This one was of the '85 /86 variety. Sounded alot more full / bigger sounding than the later ones. Nice & creamy. Had the most beautiful cleans in a SS amp Ive ever heard. I mainly used it set clean-ish, then raped with a pedal. With the right stuff up front, I could make you believe it was a hot rodded jcm800.

That's an under utilized option in the popular amp tone world.

I used to do that too. a good SS amp can outshine a tube amp when used as a pedal platform(when you're looking for that sort of tone) IMO.

yeah. The trick is to find the right pedal & then getting the highs & presence set right. Once you figure that out, you're golden.

Alot of cats think ss amps are stiff. There's ways to make 'em spongy'er. Like I said..the right pedal, and taking the time to dial it all in right. Ive had guys double check my set up to make sure I didnt have hidden things lol.

I used to have the exact amp Harley, year everything though I think that mine was an 80 watter. Ive never had much sellers regret over the years but selling that amp was a serious mistake. Great distortion that became incredible with a small amount of OD with unreal cleans....

George Lynch hid a Randall combo behind the Marshall stacks in the 80's :D
