Here are a few little ditties I threw together to try out the Slate drums. They sound way better straight out of the box than EZ Drummer, I didn't do anything with them.

None whatsoever! I just popped em down on a stereo track. I don't have my monitors set up right so so it was hard to get the levels balanced but I'm pretty happy with how they sound.

I have SSD4 Platinum and I fookin' love it. Been using the Slates for about 3 years now and as you said, I use them "as is".

Yeah, I spent a few hours last night downloading all the libraries for the platinum one and it was well worth the wait. For $129 bucks, I'd say it's worth it.
