the intro was really cool but that song was so generic and lifeless imo. His vocals are shot.

Agree his vocals are shot. Saw some vids of him performing gypsy road last year and it's just bad. He had some kind of vocal chord paralysis thing happen and I don't think he ever recovered. That said I still liked the vib of the song.

When your vocal timbre is best described as "Brian Johnson eating broken glass," you know there are probably some compromises in technique being made that may cost your vocal chords down the road. :idk:

Having said that, they were fairly tolerable for a hair band. I always thought this song had a little bit of glammy/bluesy "Once Bitten Twice Shy" swagger to it:

Also, sightings of Dweezil Zappa and Little Richard.

Mrs. Barrel is a big Cinderella fan, so I bought her Tom's solo album..........

As soon as she heard the song "Welcome to my mind" (so bad that I can't even find it on youtube), she about threw it out the car window

"The devil he's a livin' in my toaster
Cooking pop tarts on the fires of hell
Jesus watches through my black light poster
Tells me not to worry all is Swell
as Wally and the Beaver knawing on my brain

Those are some Insane Clown Posse-level lyrics right there.

I didn't mind the vocals on this track but I can see how the current state of his voice would not transfer well to a lot of the Cinderella stuff.

WTF? Those lyrics almost seem like they're lampooning the music industry. Lame and simultaneously absurd.

The vid in the OP wasn't as bad as I expected it to be. I thought his vocals fit the context pretty well. Going for a Rod Stewart/Faces vibe which I can dig.

Honestly this vid had me thinking about how cool Les Pauls look on stage.

Tom had to have throat surgery a while back, so his vox aren't going to be what they used to be. I think he has a paralyzed vocal cord or something like that. It's surprising that he can still sing at all and I have to commend him for doing so.

I saw them soon after he had surgery. His vocals sounded awesome on that tour. And, talk about great live guitar tone. Make fun all you want ( I'm not talking about the quote above) but Tom's a super talented guy.
