Completely independent of the movie, that soundtrack is one of my favorite albums of all time.
And the movie...I have a total unironic love for that film. I almost don't want to get to know the real Minneapolis too well, because I know it will disappoint me.

"That's not Lake Minnetonka."

Here's Prince unleashing a can of GODMODE on unsuspecting rock legends, while giving zero fucks. I'm talking fake fainting and launching his tele into orbit, just to finish by pimp walking back to the limo, still not giving any fucks.

I don't even think of it as a soundtrack. The whole album is so, just....
Fuck yeah! Dude is way baller. IMO he's one of the greatest rock musicians of all time, and probably the greatest musician I've personally seen live. Fucker reminds me a lot of Hendrix too.

Prince is obviously all sorts of awesome on the guitar and makes great music occasionally but he has put out some really awful shit over the years too.

jesus that prince vid with tom petty and jeff lyne is unreal. that was one of my favorite guitar moments ever right there. He is such a badass on the instrument and has such a distinctive style. I really wish he pursued his rock roots thru his whole career and made some real memorable music.

I think it'd be fuckin' bad ass if he recorded a straight-up rock album.
