You could make a copy of the audio file, then with you daw roll off frequencies below 40/60 hertz and above 100/150 hz (or whatever) to hear a narrow band of drums? It would be muffled with bleed over from the bass guitar on the bottom and similar on the top end. But then what would you do with that?

I suggest importing the full audio into something like Windows Movie Maker and manually insert the images at the points you want. Win MM also allows for image transition effects that are real handy. It's free and great for beginners, and may be on your computer already. And Windows also has DVD Maker for free, and it also may be on your computer already.

Of course many caveats go along with that. You will probably have issues with the audio format and resulting video format. You will have to use Windows format at first because MM needs Windows format. So you may need to convert the MM movie to a more generic file format like .flv video with mp3 audio. Smaller file sizes gives better performance on more computer systems. If it's something you will only play on your computer to friends and family to a projector or TV, then you don't need to worry about other formats. If you're planning on putting it on the web, like on youtube, then the format and file size become a big issue.
