Arcade Fire issues dress code for concerts?!?

Post by Telephant »

What in the actual fuck?!? As if I didn't hate them already, now I really fucking hate them. How do you even enforce something like this?

saw em at bonaroo. keyboard player thought it was religious. i thought it was ok, but very contrived.
how douchey of a move this is depends entirely on enforcement though.

dress code in jest: cute, artsy, comical, tongue in cheek, no problem. id put something like on a ticket. why not.

dress code in earnest: burn them and canada for spawning their pretentious little selves.

everyone should show up in normal clothes - when you aren't let in - demand your refund.
Tell 'em that's as fancy as you got........

Yeah I heard this today, WTF? But I haven't heard if its actually enforced or not. Seems impossible to actually police - are they seriously getting the people at the venues to judge who is sufficiently "dressed up"? It must be a joke. Or a publicity stunt. Seems to have worked since this band has been off my radar for years now.

I loved "Neon Bible" but since then, I haven't cared a lick. It went from seeming real and honest to contrived. This whole idea is hilarious.

So, either suits and dresses...or costumes? I mean, that's begging for a dude in a speedo and swim cap showing up saying "I'm michael phelps".

The only reason those cunts won a Grammy for best album in 2011 was because, well, let's see...who were they up against that year?
Eminem, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, and Lady Antebellum.

I really hate all the limp wristed, candy ass music that's all over the charts.
