Weeknight shows are like an extra practice, only with free drinks.
It's our first show since we finished recording, which is to say our first show in a couple of months. The songs in our set other than the four we just recorded for the EP were a bit rusty, to say the least, when we started rehearsing again. So maybe it's good that we'll end up playing for bar staff, the other bands, and about ten paying heads tonight.
Yeah I know, CSB.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaand, to close this pointless thread: it was dark and shitty, but here's me, my drummer, and a shitload of Jameson and soda. Only you can't see the Jameson and soda, because it's inside me.

Oh, it was a lot of fun. Better than expected. We're happy to do weeknight shows, we just go into them with different expectations. It's looser, there's more direct banter and interaction between me (the guy who does most of the singing and talking) and the 15 people in the crowd. And we played pretty well, considering it was our first show back.
Weekend shows are more about getting the fan base out (such as it is), making new fans, and kicking ass.

Sweet, glad you guys had a good time. But, yeah, I've been there, it's definitely about having the right expectations.. We have a Tuesday gig coming up in a few weeks we'll see if anyone shows...

"Sure, we'd love to play at 12am on a weeknight for the remaining drunks at the bar!"
At least you have the right attitude.
It was all good. We hit the stage by 11, and the touring band (The Bad Lovers, Austin TX) stuck around for our set anyway. Cool guys, great rock band.
