Ive never seen footage from the Miama pop festival. Jimi had an old Sound City in his back line. One of his Mrashlals looked kinda odd. Looked like a Super Tremelo, as the control panel was kinda long looking, but I couldnt really make out how many knobs were on it.
I have a bootleg CD of Miami Pop. Hopefully they'll release a DVD of that show

Was this that PBS documentary that came on last week? I missed it but I'm sure I can find it online. I've had a few of my friends tell me that there was in fact REAL unreleased footage. That excites me.
yeah. Thats it. It was pretty decent, though nothing really informative to a true Hendrix fan.
I am glad they left out the 2 Black Panther idiots, Pat Hartley, & didnt really mention Monika Danneman. His "sister" (uugggh) only made a brief appearance.
Yeah, the footage of Miami gave me an anticipation boner. The audio quality of what they showed seemed nice.
Wish like fuck there was a good audio from Maui '70. If not for the wind that day...He was playing some killer shit that day. He was happy. When he was happy, he played & sounded better.

I saw the documentary and realized that I work where the Miami Pop festival took place. I ordered a Hendrix photo to put on our wall of musicians that have played here. The entire show was recorded, Eddie Kramer remasterd it and it was released on November 5. In the interview, Kramer also says that he is working on enough remastering for possibly 10 albums.
The Hear My Train A Comin' documentary for purchase is supposed to have the available footage from the Pop festival. Hendrix was supposed to play on both days of the festival which was the precursor to Woodstock, but was rained out on day 2. In the limo to the airport he began writing the lyrics to Rainy Day, Dream Away. I thought that was cool.
There was a beautiful little ditty at the end that I have to go back and listen to. It sounds like Jimmy just noodling on the neck pickup of a Strat. It's absolutely some of the most beautiful off the cuff playing I have ever heard.
The whole documentary makes me love Jimi so much more.
