This guy was an absolute legend

Look at the way he smokes thru those scales. The note selection is superb. Its like he has the feel of Clapton, the imagination of Hendrix, the ingenuity of Eddie, the talent of Guthrie, the melody of Satch and the craft of Vai all into one. What an amazing performance.

There was a huge shitstorm about this video back on HCAF. Quite a few pretentious asshats were on their high horses defending it as supremely intellectual art and that we just don't "get it".

Yeah, whatever. Sure, artistic vision can be appreciated even if you don't like it (and ordinarily I'd give him the benefit of a doubt by classifying those strange and dissonant chords as his artistic vision), but the dead notes, string noise, and horrible technique say it all. That guy is not an avant-garde mastermind, he's a fucking hack with a bunch of wannabe artsy dweebs parading him because they want to feel special.

What is that ominous figure in the background with the glowing eyes?

He and Wesley Willis would have made a great band.
"If there was only a way that I couldn't even any less than I already can't then I'd gladly not, but I think I've entered some quantum paradox, dark matter levels of can't evening where the total absolute value of not evenness exceeds all ability to explain the can'ting." - MR RUBATO

I mean this in the most respectful way possible. What do you consider a melody?

Was he even in tune?

I'll make a vid tomorrow with my Epiphone Dot Studio and just "let loose".
