Breakdowns have been in metal long before "core" genres. I dig em all

There are so many breakdowns in countless "tr00" ( ) band's songs though, the list could be infinite. Here's a couple random ones though

Here's the first song I ever heard with a part I knew to call a breakdown. And while it's pretty tame compared to modern breakdowns, it's still pretty fucking cool. Here it is, cued up to the good part:

WAR DANCE!

"If there was only a way that I couldn't even any less than I already can't then I'd gladly not, but I think I've entered some quantum paradox, dark matter levels of can't evening where the total absolute value of not evenness exceeds all ability to explain the can'ting." - MR RUBATO

I thought a breakdown was like what happens at 1:35.

Who said this had anything to do with their hairstyles or choices of clothing? That band is flat out lame, period.

I'll just attribute it to being a Jersey thing, and that I wouldn't understand.

I feel lucky that I like both August Burns Red and Morbid Angel. There's plenty of great metalcore just like there's plenty of shitty death metal... However, I do totally understand the desire to distance oneself from that movement when there's shit like Attila and Asking Alexandria plaguing art and mankind in general.

I agree with both of these posts :thu: I like August Burns Red's first two albums, kinda lost interest after that

Timestamp @ 10 seconds, that synth guy... he's just bracing and head banging? Like the piano is the only thing keeping him from launching into space?
