Reaper.

Used to run Cakewalk and then Sonar up until version 6.21. Then had Sonar foul up a couple remote recording gigs that I was doing (using a then-powerful laptop), due to its piss-poor performance and resource management. Moved to Reaper at that point and haven't looked back since. I do mostly audio stuff, very little MIDI stuff, and it works perfectly for me.

You guys might want to check out the recently-released Ignite Air for home stuff. It's free, and has a unique interface.

I've used several but I recently switched to Logic with my new Mac. I was most recently using Cubase 4 studio but never really jelled with it. Logic seems really easy and intuitive.

Cubase 7 , I've been on Cubase since Cubasis VST , long time ago and still I only touch on it's capabilities.

Cubase 6 here, but the story is the same.

Started on Cubasis VST and a Soundblaster, went through SX 3, C4, and now C6. Now I've switched to Windows 7 in preparation for Cubase 7.

An old Cubase SX, don't remember which one off the top of my head, but I've had it a fair few years now. Might be SX3.

Haven't really done any recording for ages though. If I get back into it I'll probably look at upgrading the PC and then move up to whatever the latest Cubase is. I've looked at a few others, but nothing has ever really grabbed me on the MIDI side of things.

I used to use Cubase for a long time, then switched to Reaper and have no plans of going back.

I've tried a few versions of PT and hated them all so I tried Reaper and ended up buying it. I love it :thu:

Hated PT and love Reaper. Does pretty much everything I need so far and as NinjaRaf pointed out it's not a resource hog. Some real nice skins for it too...

I love Cubase (still using 4) I have no need to change, I have been using Cubase since 98 and just find it so easy to use.

I use Reaper now but was a longtime Cubase user. I would be lying if I said I didn't miss it. There are some things I like more in Reaper due to its DAW-centric design (i.e. it isn't trying to look or act like a piece of hardware) but I do a lot of MIDI programming and Cubase is king to me for MIDI. Unfortunately its really expensive and the last version I bought was SX 3...

I have reaper to, but Cubase blows it away.
Nothing wrong with sx3 it still sounds great

Nothing wrong except that it is 32-bit. I've got 16 GB of RAM and some very hungry VSTs...

FL Studio 10 Producer Edition!

Actually quite simple and easy to use after you get used to it. Plus its pretty powerful and comes loaded with VSTs right out of the box.

Pro Tools 10. Pretty pissed off that Native Instruments' Kontakt, Damage and other RTAS plugins won't work on PT11.

I've used Garageband a ton because I'm a recording dummy, but made the jump to Reaper last year. i really like it and it's been pretty easy to figure out and navigate. Of course my needs are pretty simple, not doing any midi stuff. And its kind of stupid how cheap it is for what it does.

I still like Garageband for building loops and backing tracks...
