So, you know that flu bug going round?

Post by ovid9 »

Yeah, turns out it sucks donkey balls.

I pretty much never get sick. Sure, I get colds and sinus infections, but the flu? I haven't had the flu in years.

Monday, got up, worked out, went to work and was doing dandy. Around 9, I started feeling kinda crappy. By lunch I was feeling so terrible I asked to go home.

Spent all day home yesterday, and stayed home today though this afternoon I'm feeling good enough now this morning I still was pretty out of it.

Hope none of you all have to deal with this and next year I think I'll get my flu shot.

Only bonus is I felt too crappy to even play video games so I've been watching a ton of Dr. Who. Still, you know you feel bad when you'd rather be working than laying at home sick.

I was sneezing non-stop this morning. Took some vitamin C just in case. It would suck to get the flu because if I do my son invariably will get it too and that kid is a pain in the ass when he's sick

Wrong...it covers 3 strains which are predicted based on what starts out in asia.

Plus there is a synergetic effect were it is added immunity over the years...meaning you will not getthe full sickness if it is off a bit.

Get the shot.

I'm lucky... I never get full blown sick, just a mild cold that lasts a couple days... nothing that keeps me out of work or anything.

I had it like 2 weeks ago. I woke up Monday morning and could barely move. My body ached so bad. I didn't get the stomach bug part of it luckily. I had all the other stuff. It knocked me on my ass for 2 days bad. I've had a cough though ever since. It lingers on for awhile.

Actually the funny thing was, I didn't post here at all Monday night or Tuesday. All of that was before then and probably 25 posts today?

Yeah, no real stomach issues thankfully. I've had a bit of hollow cough today, but it didn't totally take over my lungs thankfully. God I hate being sick. I feel bad for people who get sick a lot. It sucks.

No more/less sad than me... :-D ... :( ... I was worried there wouldn't be a forum with all the regulars (even if my posting rate can be measured with a calendar).

I'll just throw in a gratuitous thanks right here to Billy and really the rest of the HCAF regulars for getting this place going so quickly.

We got hit HARD the week of Thanksgiving. I ended up in the ER on Wednesday and my wife had to take my oldest and youngest to Children's Hospital for 3 days. We sent my middle son to a friends to keep him away from the plague. It was miserable!!! I spent 3 days alone in the dark only getting up to pee, vomit, or crap my guts out.

If you were feeling better by day 3 then you didn't have influenza. Flu puts you on your ass for 2 weeks and then you still feel weak and tired for one to two weeks after that. Glad to hear you're doing better though. I just got over a nasty cold myself.
