OT: Wish Me Luck Guys....

Just took a mechanical test for a position with a different Water/Fire district. Think I did pretty damned good on it. It would be a pretty good raise and get me out of being a shift worker. It would also get me out into the field doing actual work and using my brain. I currently spend 8 or 16 hours at a time sitting in a chair doing nothing. That, along with the toxic social nature in the building has me clawing for the exit. The whole environment is depressing me and making me sad. With this new gig, sure, I'd be on call one week a month. But that beats the hell out of being the low man in a short staffed 24/7-365 WaterPlant. I'm basically on call every moment of my life...

Hope to hear I get a interview soon.

It's either this, or I am going back to electrical work. Benefits be damned.
