Full-band "karaoke" backing tracks?

Post by mrelusive »

Metal, acoustic, hip-hop, whatever. Got a new mic and i wanna try my hand at recording / mixing vocals without having to record all the other instruments first. Is there any decent place online to get stuff like that? I want something already mixed that sounds good on its own. Then i'd record vocals and try to make em 'sit' properly in the mix.

Would this work like i hope or is it not worth trying?

I'm sure you could rip something off of youtube, wouldn't be the best quality but should be decent enough to do what you're looking to do..

There's a plethora of full recordings minus vocals available out there if you hunt around a little. Some of them are even pretty good quality.

The trick is finding ones you can listen to before you purchase them.
