Drunk Fuzz purchase... with Rum Punch recipe

Rum Punch is a dangerous beverage!!! Image
Three drinks in and BAM!!!!!!!!!! Incoming TC Honey Pot Fuzz!!!!!!!!!!
https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail ... fuzz-pedal
It was only $49... wonder what I would buy after five drinks?

"TC Electronic designed Honey Pot Fuzz to deliver “the instantly recognizable distortion guitar sound found on iconic rock albums from the ’70s onward.” The company specifically cites The Black Keys and The White Stripes, ’90s alternative rock, and Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon as being specific sonic targets. For you, this masterful design manifests itself in thick, buzz-saw power chords with a life of their own; soaring, violin-like leads; and tight, dynamic riffs that hold their own in any mix."

RUM PUNCH
Two shots of English Harbor Rum from Antiqua is best. I used Rhum Barbancourt from Haiti.
1 teaspoon Lime
3 dashes Angostura Bitters
1 teaspoon Simple Syrup
1/2 teaspoon maraschino cherry syrup (my addition)
2 maraschino cherries
Dust with nutmeg
Lots of ice - add a bit of water if you don't have the patience for the ice to melt.
The ice needs to melt half way for best taste.

well shit.... that sounds pretty decent in that demo.... almost like an old big muff but with some cut....... for $50 I think I might grab one...

interesting punch recipe.... we get alllllll kinds of rum punches down here... everyone has their "secret" recipe... but they all follow the basic recipe

2 parts spirits
1 part sparkling water/soda
1 part sweet, like fruit, juice, or simple syrup... typically we use fruit juice since rum is sweet enough.... some people add a little extra sugar....
1 part sour, like lemon or lime juice
and of course Angostura Bitters, qty depends on if you're making a drink or a pitcher lol....

Agostura makes a soft drink called Chill LLB which stands for Lemon, Lime, Bitters thats sold locally at least I've never seen it outside of Trinidad, except maybe in some other Caribbean islands, that you just add that to some rum and you basically have an instant rum punch... not fancy but pretty no fuss... on its own.. its actually a pretty refreshing drink

Image

so in looking up that picture I saw that you can get it on Amazon lol

Gorilla suit??? :rawk: :rawk: :rawk: :rawk:

The g/f and I went to a resort in Antigua and they offer you a Rum Punch (or Piña Colada) as you're checking in at the front desk!
We asked for the Rum Punch and wound up drinking them during our entire stay.
We brought a bottle of English Harbor rum back with us and did a decent job of recreating the formula.
Since getting back last June, we've been playing cards with one or two Rum Punches every Saturday night.

I think I'll have to drink a few more rum punches to build up the courage to buy a 6-pack of Chill LLB... it's $27 + $9.50 shipping at Amazon!!!
Found it for a better price, from an importer not far from where I live: https://www.caribbeanexportco.com/shop/ ... me-bitters
I just ordered a 3pack of Chill LLP and a Jamaican fruit cake!!! :hi5:

yeah, we took advantage of the complimentary rum punch and pina coladas everywhere. i was 22 at the time

you were allowed to take 6 bottles through customs, so 6 bottles of Bacardi 151 it was. no real check at customs back then ... i could have smuggled a kilo of coke. rum punch with Minute Maid fruit punch for a while after that ...

$49 for a muff style fuzz ain't bad and TC makes decent stuff.
I'll post gut shots and let you know what I think. It should arrive by the end of the week.

My Honey Pot arrived today and I just put about 15 minutes on it with my PLX-fx Bion equipped SG into the Model Tee.
On it's own, the Honey Pot is a bit weak for a fuzz; it's more of an od/distortion. The adverts speak a of a Massive Wall of Tone with Miles of Sustain.... ummm, no.
I was thinking about selling it until I kicked in the Bion Boost and YOWZA!!! What a difference!!!
It's a totally different pedal with the Bion.
I need to spend some more time with it but, at this point, it's a keeper. :thu:
