Koch Multitone II

Post by ZEEGLER »

Have I already asked about this one? I can't remember. :idk:

100 watt head

Is it worth a look? It's minty, and super cheap.

Build quality is excellent.
Tone-wise, they're dark, smooth amps. Kind of in the Bogner or Jubilee camp. Personally I think they're too dark for me to use it as my main amp. But as an amp to have it on the side to record smooth lead tones, sure I'd buy it for that.

They're VERY hard to sell, which is probably why the price is low. There's one at Atomic Music that's priced at $699 and its been there for 2 years and it won't move. I may make an offer on it eventually. The brand is virtually unknown in North America. They do have a solid reputation in Europe though.

But they're good amps. Try before you buy, if possible.

The guy is asking just over $350 USD for it. I think he's starting to get desperate because it was first listed at $1000.

Sounds about right (the desperation).

But it's a hell of an amp at $350. That's what I'm planning to offer for the one at Atomic Music if I ended up buying it.

I've messaged the guy to make sure the footswitch is included. It is, so I'm going to see if I can pick it up this weekend.

Can't really go wrong for the price. :idk:

We used to have a very active member here who played a Koch for awhile. I don't remember if he liked it or not but I seem to remember him not liking the way the amp responded to microscopic changes in string height and pickup height.
