New Demo Thrash Tune: Saddle up! Gallops galore.

Post by nightflameauto »

Been working on this one for almost as long as I have Sweet Dreams, maybe even longer. It's been a process. Tried something new with it, not recording anything, even in demo form, until I had the song pretty well completely written and all the drum parts laid out.

Here's the rhythm demo with a few rough patches yet to clean up.
https://theleehousehold.com/mp3/FindOurWayDemo1.mp3

Technicalities:
The usual King-V with GFS Redactive Golds
In this case, just the Kazrog Fiddy plugin
Drums are GGD Invasion Nastier than Thou with a few tweaks

Long ways to go before I get to the "real" recording on this, but thought it was getting to the point it was worth sharing with the bros. Probably my longest fast tune ever. The riff with the harmonies is one of my favorite things to play I've ever cooked up. It feels very throwback classical, while still being very :rawk: .

What say, bros? Like, dislike, dismember, rape?

I like it so far! Good work man.

Thanks, man.

And, now it looks like my webhost went tits-up. So, box blocks my clips after a couple days, and my own webhost fails. Ain't the information age wonderful?

Hopefully I can get it back up soon, but they just got bought out and are in-process of transferring accounts. More fun to deal with. Sigh.

Tight! Getting some AJFA vibes on this one. Riffs snaking all over the place!

Not to mention the complete lack of bass!

You'll be happy to know the riff that started me down this path was improvised at your house that day. It grew somewhat from that initial moment, but it was being fired up loud that got it kicked off.

I thought it sounded a bit familiar, and I was surprised how good that plugin sounds.

I don't know what kind of magic Kazrog pulled here, but for "recording when everybody else is sleeping" shit it's pretty presentable.

Lyrics written. And I've been practicing my face off on it, mostly because it's just god damned fun to play. New strangs on the fiddle. Hoping tomorrow leaves me enough time to get my DSL takes done for rhythms and start working on the leads. :rawk:

True story! It's one of those where you gotta watch the speed if you're on the interstate listening to it.
