Finally finished the Slash Stratosphere build. NGD!

Post by Mike Oxhuge »

Just finally got around to finishing putting my 2023 Gibson Les Paul Slash Appetite Amber together. Just like all the new Gibson's Ive played, it is a killer guitar! Stock Gibson TOM and tail piece, Gibson BB1 in bridge and went with a Tonerider Alnico IV in the neck. Also upgraded to 18:1 Klusens which are amazing compared to stock ones. Sounds, and plays absolutely stellar. I removed the Slash Sig truss rod cover for a plain one and went with double black on the pickups as Inprefer that look for this particular finish.

Absolutely beautiful! Looks like you got exactly the LP you wanted. Love it when a project like this works out.

That's damn sexy. I'll have to post my latest build when I get home. You have inspired me. Wish all the damn parts would get here.

Thanks everyone. Every Les Paul I've had has had slightly different tones. The BB1 in the bridge of this one sounds alot like a Duncan 59. A little scooped, crunchy and a hotter feel despite tje 8.1k ohm reading. I am so impressed by the Tonerider Alnico IV in the neck. Blends perfectly with the Burstbucker. Only measures 7.0k. Inwas going to put the 80's tribute Gibson nexk pickup in but hate soldering the old school cloth wire grounds to pots.
