Partscasters

Post by facefirst »

So I’m in a Pop Punk tribute band and I just MUST look the part. I picked up the Tom Delonge Strat a month or so ago (on top of already having two others from like 20 years ago) but had the itch to out some together. Picked up a couple bodies from GFS and necks from Warmoth. I made the nuts myself, which was an interesting experience. I’m pretty good at it now after trashing a couple blanks. But hey, can sand the blanks down and keep the dust for filling low nut slots.

So anyways, my Tom Delonge inspired Partscasters

They look awesome!!!! How do you like the GFS bodies? I am thinking of buying one to convert one of my partscasters to hardtail.

Also are they the XGP or the Lido line?

These are the XGP bodies. They fit American spec Fender stuff. I believe they’re made of poplar. I like them a lot. I have 3 of their bodies. I’ve never tried their necks and would probably just spend a bit more on a Warmoth.

Nice!

I want to swap the Super D in my LP Standard with a 30th Anniversary I've had sitting around for a year.

A single P/U fixed bridge Strat would make a nice home for that.

Oh...wait a minute. I just remembered I have a Tele kit that has been sitting in a box under a bed for 8 - 10 years.

My wife bought me a Grizzly kit a long time ago.
Unfinished body and the headstock is a blank that needs to be cut.
I noticed a flaw in the body by the neck pocket where the builder had sanded off a little too much wood in one spot and thought NOPE and shoved it under the bed.

I will need to put that POS together too if I do this.
