Broke out the Keeley SD-1 with the DSLs

Post by nightflameauto »

Busted out the Keeley SD-1 a while back and have been "refining" the recorded tone. Also, got GGD Invasion for my barfdate yesterday. I turned five hundred years old. Oh wait, added a zero. Whatever. Same thing. Anyway, this is trying out one of the kits in Invasion, the Nastier than Thou kit mostly raw. Just touched up some EQ and tweaked some room settings. Probably need more time with it to get it meshing perfectly, but for a few minutes, this is pretty cool. Really dig the layout of GGD and the routing you can do.

For you sick fucks that like things taken apart, like me:

Couldn't begin to tell you why the hell the separated ones are louder. I'll have to figure that one out in the morning. Damn computers.

Sounds great!!! The DSL and the SD1 are like peanut butter and jelly. Stock or modded, they just work really well together.

Getting some Megadeth vibes off that one! Love it. The SD-1 is such a great pedal. I know it gets overlooked because it’s so cheap compared to other ODs but it does what it does so well. Pair it with a Marshall (or any British voiced amp, really) and it just slays. Works great with 5150s and Rectos too. I love it with my Rockerverb too.

Thanks, bro.

Yup. This is probably why I have something like six SD-1s scattered around my room here.

Hmm. Megadeth? :idk:

SD-1s are such a staple. I wish I would have bought one as my first pedal instead of the ODr2. That thing was harsh city in comparison. I've used the SD-1 with everything from my old Ampeg VL1002 to my Studio Pro to a 5150 to the 8100 and the DSLs. Never been disappointed with them, stock or modded.

That mix. Oi. I gotta stop mixing the same day I record. My ears are so fried from the guitar amps I tend to leave the guitars turned down too low. Ah well. Here's today's which I'm sure I'll hate tomorrow.

The full mix clip is dead on my end

But the guitars-only clip sounds awesome

Dammit! I didn't touch it. I'm adding this to the list of reasons for the war between me and computers.

Thanks, man.

I've been contemplating taking that first riff and speeding it way the hell up as a bridge in another tune. I haven't produced that much pick dust in a guitar in decades. That at about 220 BPM is just awesome sounding.

It appears Box is purging me. Fantastic. The files still sit out there, but they appear to be randomly shutting off the share links.

I guess it's back to hosting my own files. Sigh.

This will probably live for a couple days. I guess they've implemented an expiration on links, that you can't control without paying them monthly. Anyway.
