That guitar in my brain is linked forever with Ed Roman. "my Abstract 'Fool' is way better than the real thing. You're a goddamn idiot if you are gonna buy any guitars that don't come from me".

 He didn't actually say/write that, but definitely made copies, and of course wrote like that.

I spent many an hour cruising that site as a youth too.
There has been a J Frog Glock 22 for sale around here for a long time for dirt cheap, but now that I'm looking someone must've finally bought it.

Not to razz the dead but that Ginger Troll was a Supreme Assclown. I used to go to the store he had in CT before he moved out West and thief does not begin to describe that creep. It was called The Danbury Music Mall and had some killer guitars. Some of the guys that worked there were awesome and the Co-owner at the time (Morgan) hooked me up with my first "real" console. A Mackie 24x8. Morgan was great to deal with. Ed not so much. They had a transparent green Robin in the store that I wanted for years and I was never able to acquire it. Oh well. I did score some awesome ibby's there. Damn that douchenozzle still lives on in infamy. If guitars could talk?

Yeah I used to go to the East Coast Music Mall in Danbury back in the day. It was a bit of a drive from my home in NJ but my dad would take me. I bought a BC Rich ST3 there in 1989, I think. I never actually saw Ed at the store, or maybe I just didn't notice him. His staff was cool though. That store was off the chain. They had an amazing inventory.

I was watching a documentary last night about 1976. It covered the incident where Clapton did a racist rant at a gig, also the story of "rock against racism."

I was aware of Clapton's views, and I was also aware of RAR, but I didn't realise that the latter (the formation of RAR) was a direct result of the former.

Such a racist pos, he spawned an entire movement.

Stealing his friends wife, Junkie, Racist. Blaming the covid Vaccine for his hand problems then touring months later anyway. It's still a cool guitar though. As big an asshole as he's always been the guy was for a time at least pushing the Rock Genre into new territory. This guitar was a part of that but not worth whatever it will sell for. I wish there was a better museum than the R&R hall of fame or Hard Rock Cafes for this crap.

Yeah I don't particularly care for some of Claptons antics over the years, but that goes for a lot of rock stars really. So I just separate the music from the personal/political stuff.

But looking back, Cream was hugely influential at the time, definitely one of the first bands to start exploring with what became hard rock later on. So in a way, that was the genesis of most of the music I like/play and this particular guitar was the center of it. So it's a highly iconic instrument in my view. I think the $1M-2M range is realistic given the importance of the guitar, but we'll see.

Lol.

Junkie Clapton was best Clapton. And it’s not like he was a junkie junkie, but a functioning junkie. Like many addicts actually are.

Pretty sure it was Evh who said this, and he was a huge Clapton fan, I forget the context but basically he was talking about how Clapton hasn’t written any good music since he got off heroin. Lol. And I think that’s pretty much true

Ya, I gotta agree there, but I sure do love his current outlook on society. Certainly appreciate it much more than the whiny bitches crying about him.
