My drummer has a decently popular YT channel and he does these drum cam videos of his performances, he works with a bunch if different bands and does studio work etc He's an awesome drummer and entertaining to watch, but also for this show the drum camera was right by the DSL so that was cool.
Anyway, I promised him I'd post it here so here we go

Thanks man!!
The signal chain is very simple: Wah and SD1 in front of the amp and a Boss DD-500 in the loop. The SD1 is only turned on for solos. So for the rhythm parts it's just straight into the DSL. The delay is always on but mixed very low, just enough to take out the dryness.
The trick with the DSL is to keep the gain low and turn up the volume. My gain is set on 2. The Master is on 4.5 so that's just past the power tubes break up point the creaminess you hear is the power amp working hard.
That's loud so on some venues I bring an attenuator just to take a few dbs off, but this venue's soundguy is awesome, he's very experienced with rock music, so he told me to play as loud as I wanted and he'd make it work. So good to work with soundguys that understand how to mix a rock bands.

Yeah man, we had to get rid of the previous drummer, she was really ruining the music. This guy is from NJ so he's 200 miles away from us and just helping us out temporarily.
But he's a good buddy of mine and agreed to help us out for now and I'm covering all his travel expenses and giving him some $ for his time, which is fair because drumming is his full-time job.
I was a bit worried initially because the first time we played together was 2 hours before a show! But he came in super prepared, knew the songs inside out, even had them written down on sheet music. So in 2 hours, he played better than the other drummer who had been with us for 2 years. It's better to just hire a professional sometimes.
We have a new full-time drummer rehearsing with us and it's going well but it will be a few months until she's ready, so I'll keep using him for the meantime.
