So I traded my 210 JVM for the bus 5153 plus 2x12. Couldn’t be happier. This is by far the most brutal amp I’ve had in a very long time. Fucking red channel
I’ll share more details at a later date but so far all I can say is god damn fuck yeah
Guitars: 2018 Gibson Les Paul Standard | Fender American Pro II Stratocaster | PRS S2 Mccarty 594 | PRS S2 Vela Semihollow | PRS CU-22 | PRS CE24 semihollow
First things first, the red knobs must be removed immediately.
But yeah these amps are killer!!! They're really a perfect balance between size, power and features. I played a lot of gigs with mine recently. I tend to prefer 100w amps but these amps are killer.
Guitars: '78 Les Paul Pro / '89 SG Special/ '04 Gibson Les Paul Classic 3 pickup / Jackson Star/ Endres Tele / Fernandes Rhoads/ ''74 Hohner MIJ strat/ 2 Partscasters
Amps: Depends on when you ask. I got tired of constantly updating this section lol
Cabs Marshall 1960A w V30s/ Seismic 2x12 w Redback and V30.

Yes. The original white knobs are in my car cup holder they will be going back on post haste
Size is crazy, it’s a even smaller than my Engl Thunder seems to be packing a wallop regardless
Guitars: 2018 Gibson Les Paul Standard | Fender American Pro II Stratocaster | PRS S2 Mccarty 594 | PRS S2 Vela Semihollow | PRS CU-22 | PRS CE24 semihollow
I used to have this exact set up Back when the 5153 first came out and they were $800. It's definitely a brutal amp and the red channel is like surfing a gain wave.
Peavey XXX Head Henning Bottle Rocket Preamp Carvin MTS3212 Combo Hamer XT DC with Sheptone Red headed step childs Xaviere LP copy with Floyd Rose and Dimarzio Illuminator Bridge HB, Wilkinson Neck 80's Washburn Scavenger Bass Boss GT1000
I've had 2 OG 50s, a Kruze modded 50, and 2 50s heads. All were cool for the most part. The 50s made me sell my Peavey. The size and features are excellent. Tone is excellent especially for the price these things go for. The 100 watt is a different beast. Can't be compared, IMO. It's just another level of amp, and the size and price reflect that, I guess.
Thanks all! Got a gig next weekend so I'll get the full experience soon

OCD MELTDOWN!
Congrats. Having only ever played this type of setup once, I'm still pretty jelly.
Wait til you notice that it's the EL34 cab for the 6L6 head
Guitars: 2018 Gibson Les Paul Standard | Fender American Pro II Stratocaster | PRS S2 Mccarty 594 | PRS S2 Vela Semihollow | PRS CU-22 | PRS CE24 semihollow
sweet! ive had my el34 50w sitting here for i dont know how long and i havent even played it yet, think i might have to do that today now cause of this
Nice, hard to believe how much they fit into that small format. I liked the 100 watt when they first came out but the high price for a MIM amp and quality issues at the beginning made me stay away. They've done some really cool variations of this amp, I would definitely rock that set up and actually surprised that I don't already own a setup like that, as it checks my boxes in what I like.
I have mine up for sale but I'm reconsidering now. The EVH head with the SDE3000 would be a killer rig and do everything I need

Did a cab shootout earlier comparing my Madison 2x12 with t75s to the EVH cab. I took a video too but it’s for my own education because I wasn’t wearing any pants
Surprisingly, the EVH cab is noticeably louder. The dimensions of the box are much smaller and there’s. Front vs rear loaded aspect as well. In the room I was having a hard time deciding which I liked better, but the video indicates. Clear winner from iPhone clip is the EVH. It sounds bigger and more open. T75s sounded more scooped Maybe? And the 15 year old in me is still a sucker for mids on 0 but it was clear from the vid that the evh sounded bigger and meaner.
Afterwards I tried both together, and much to my surprise, I did not like the combo sounded fizzy as hell. Still need to try the 5153 thru my 1960 that also has t75s, and my roadster and Engl thru the EVH cab
Guitars: 2018 Gibson Les Paul Standard | Fender American Pro II Stratocaster | PRS S2 Mccarty 594 | PRS S2 Vela Semihollow | PRS CU-22 | PRS CE24 semihollow
For starters how hard is it to put some fucking pants on before shooting a video? I wanted to watch the cab comparison but yikes
Moving on, the EVH cabs are killer!! Both the 4x12 and 2x12 sound huge. I think they're a huge part of the EVH amp tone. I play mine through my Marshall cab for the most part, but I played a show where we did a backline share between the bands and the guitar player from the other brought his EVH 2x12 cab so I played through it and it sounded considerably better than the Marshall. Not that the Marshall sounds bad, it's a great cab, but they really did an excellent job tuning their cabs to the amps.

I get home from work = pants come off . Sorry not sorry
Fuck it, here’s me in my boxers. Abysmal playing of mindless nonsense chugs but who cares right
Madison cab is first, followed by EVH cab. I cycle down from red to blue to clean and you can actually hardly tell the difference in the vid but whatever
Guitars: 2018 Gibson Les Paul Standard | Fender American Pro II Stratocaster | PRS S2 Mccarty 594 | PRS S2 Vela Semihollow | PRS CU-22 | PRS CE24 semihollow
You’ve got two things going on there. The cab tuning is one thing but the speakers too. G12H30s have a different EQ curve and are more efficient than G12T75s. I’ve played those cabs and they sound amazing.

It rips for sure, definitely a fan of the H30s so far.
Now I want to grab some V30s to put in the madison 2x12, either sell those t75s or replace two of the turds in my rivera cab with them. Kinda want to go the creamback direction with that cab tho
Then I still have my 1960 loaded with 75s
I also now have 4 cabs and only 3 heads, that's a problem
