Another clip! XXX and Emg Alexi Laiho pickup

So I got this pickup awhile ago and finally dove into some of the extra setting and dialing it in. As it also has a boost. I read he used to run the boost real high and gain real low on the amp. I figured that’d make it muddy but not really at all, especially since it also has the 9 different resonant frequency options. Long story short this pickup is pure metal. It’s as hot of a pickup as I’ve ever used. The way I have it set anyway and it doesn’t disappoint.

I made this up on the spot . Literally. So it’s a little sloppy between the 2 l/r tracks.

But into the XXX, Evh speakers LTD M1 custom 1987, emg Alexi Laiho.

I was expecting not to like it because I don't like Laiho's tone but this actually sounds really good. I guess the pickup has a lot of options with the frequencies etc... but yeah I like this way better than his original tone. He was a great player though. RIP.

I really didn’t know his tone, but this pickup rules. For real, I love it. It’s technically basical the H2 which is 8.4k ohm. So low output and some resonant frequency options and then output. It can vary from total brutal to just a bit of a tweak on the H2. Awesome “system”. Sounds phenomenal to me.

Yeah I got the M1 custom 1.5 years ago. It was in the shop for awhile and one day I finally said fuck it, I’ll take it! Obviously I get a good deal so it’s a great guitar for the price. And once I really did the pro setup, with fret level and recrown, it’s a really high quality guitar

Maybe need to spend more time tweaking but it's a pretty simple layout... also need to follow Billy and Raf's advise to get some wood cut and turn it into a closed back
