He didn’t give a fuck that the theater was 90% empty
I thought that part was pretty cool honestly. That would rattle a lot of bands but he gave 110% the entire time. Didn’t even care that no one was bothering to catch his picks he constantly flipped to the crowd
This was about a 1200 seat theater with maybe 100 people at most. At least 1/3 to 1/2 the crowd left before it was over and he just kept going full force.
He wasn’t even flipping them to empty seats. Just at people that didn’t bother to catch them. Saw multiple picks hit people and they just stood there
This thread makes me want to see him... But damn it!!! The closest his tour gets to me is Reading PA and Worcester MA!!! Have no idea why he isn't plying NYC. Damn it!!!

I have gone to a few Yngwie shows. Some back in the late 80's and early 90's, and the last one a few years ago. He is much more chill these days than he used to be. Early on he was known to be a prick to everyone. His band, anyone on tour with him, the venue staff, etc... Age has smoothed out his rough edges quite a bit.
I do agree though, everyone should see him live at least once!

I love how 3/4 of the stage is his rig and the rest of the band is squeezed in the remaining 1/4

Pretty sure he gets an advanced guarantee. So he made the money he was supposed to make. The promoters lost their shirt on this, but they already had to pay the venue and the artist in advance, so at this point they might as well hold the event and hope for a last minute surge. They should have done a fire sale the last few days and at least put bodies in the venue and hope to make some money off the bar or something . Shit, even give them away at this point. But Yngwie got paid for sure.
Yngwie is far from playing to large crowds in the US but this is a bit of an anomaly tbh. He played here recently in a venue that holds about 1000 people and it was pretty packed. But it was on a Friday and not on the week before Labor Day so that's probably why. But good on in to go 110% even in a situation like this. We've all been there. It's tough.
