checked to see how many tickets were left yesterday and discover they've only sold ~100 tickets in a 1200+ seat venue



If he brings his normal 36ish Marshall heads then we'll have a Plexi for every 3 attendees

That said, get ready for ear fatigue. Yngwie these days doesn't even stick to the original song arrangements anymore and just shred all over them at an absurd volume. Still, worth seeing at least once. You may not want to play guitar for months after it, not because you were humbled, but because you took in 3 months worth of guitar notes in 90 minutes

I saw him a year or two back. I enjoyed it.. And for sure they are majority dummy heads. In fact I saw em unloading after the show and they are 3 or 4 “heads” made into one empty plywood box. Also because this show was out in a swanky suburb, that after the show, they all just left. And as I’m walking back to my car, I see the tour buses, I was hammered and didn’t have work, so the wife is like stick around and get the pic. So we did. With only 2 other people. One was a 50 yo chick with 5 or 6 LPs looking to sign, the other guy was a dude who identified as whatever those Insane Clown Posse dudes do! Haha. I forget, he wasn’t in makeup or anything tho. And we ended up shooting the shit about, what is now, all the true theories going on durin this time. Lol. It was a blast. Especially since I brought a bottle of tequila to get 4 or 5 shots down in the parking before the show, and I still spent $40 on liquor inside but I just kept going back and taking swigs every 15 minutes. I was pretty fucking good by this time.

We ended up hanging a bit with the drummer of His band , who was only 23 and he had a few little groupies. Then about an hour 30, 2 hours later, so it’s gotta be Around midnight or 12:30 on a Wednesday or whatver, and place is cleared out except never seen Yngwie. Bus is loaded up and assuming they just wait by on him. Eventually some dork from the “event staff” comes out and says “we need you you to leave”. But we are literally just standing on a street corner. It’s not their property. I say, “look man I know you doing your job but who’s asking us to leave, the venue or Yngwie? And he said “The “talent”(lol) doesn’t want anyone out here.” Haha. Im like dude it’s 3 of us, it’ll take 3 minutes… He keeps saying he won’t come out until it’s cleared. I don’t like Yngwie that much so I’m like fuck him, I’m out. The chick with the LPs literally shoulders slumped she was so bummed. I tell the dude, “At least let her stand back here and try to get him to sign” . Eventually as I’m almost to my car, I see her walking away dejected.

Later on, on Facebook I see Yngwie talking about how he loves his fans and accomadates them , or something along those lines. I say, Bro, your show was fun but you fucking ditched 3 of us back there after the show at the Arcada.” And maybe added a few more details , and next thing you know I e been blocked by Yngwie Facebook! Hahaha I guess he notoriously checks and blocks and deletes comments. Pretty great

There were like 100 people there.

I could swear all of the 17 stacks were real. It was the loudest show I've EVER heard. To this day.

He had the other band members behind the amps on another stage.

He came out, and he was fucking HUGE. This wasn't one of the fat phases. He was big like a Viking giant. He was like my size, but 4" taller, with giant boots and Cinderella hair. His presence was larger than life. He moved around like crazy on stage and threw like 500 picks into the crowd.

It was awesome, but my ears were shredded. I had to leave half way through. I hope it's awesome for you. make sure to get good and wasted. It makes it more epic.

He actually only runs 2 50w Marshalls. He doesn't even use his own signature amps. it's the same '72 metal panels he's used his whole life.

BUT 2 50w plexis cranked and not attenuated is painfully loud for the size of venues he plays. Then he has his guitar cranked on the PA too. It's a crazy loud show.

It wasn’t as loud as I was expecting but goddamn the dude can play. Didn’t hit a bad note the entire time I was there. Tons of guitar spinning, high leg kicks, rock poses, and pick flips galore. Of course I got hammered, got as close as I could, caught a pick, and left after 90 minutes of being punched in the face with every guitar note.
