So I took to the internet to find a Stingray that wasn't hilariously overpriced, but to no avail. The cheapest I was able to find was north of $2600 Canadian (and I very vividly remember them being $1800 guitars).
And since I wanted the body shape more than the quality, I figured I'd check out DHGate for a knockoff (all of the Chibsons I've played have looked almost dead-on, and played decently after a setup).
Enter this:

I sent the guy a message asking if he offered any customization, to which he replied that he did.
I asked for the guitar in sunburst, with no top pickup selector, and a single coil route in the neck spot, just like the one Dustin Kensrue signature model.
This is what I sent him for a reference:

He told me to make this guitar would not be a problem at all.
Fast forward 2-3 weeks. I begin wondering where this guitar is at, so I start messaging the seller. Zero replies. Complete radio silence. But a tracking number suddenly appears on the order.
I open a dispute with DHGate, citing no product being sent. Suddenly, the seller starts responding, saying the guitar is completed and ready for shipping.
I ask him for photos of the completed guitar, because I'm a bit reluctant to believe him. He keeps feeding me lines like "I'll send you photos in a half hour" and so on.
Finally, he sends me photos and everything was wrong. He basically made the guitar in the listing (same colour), but left an 8 year old in charge of the actual work.
I tell him "good lord, no. you got everything wrong. cancel my order and give me a refund." After a few back-and-forths of him trying to tell me the guitar was perfect, he concedes and I get a refund. Case closed.
A week later, I get a notification from CanadaPost that I have a package coming to me from China.
So anyway, I picked it up from the post office a couple days ago and it's so much worse than what the photos showed. Even though I got it for free, I still think I paid too much.

Honestly, what the actual fuck is this.
