It's currently wired

Here's how it is currently wired

I'm wondering if there may be mistakes in this diagram? Like, I can't understand why the ground (Black) wire from the bridge pickup would be connected to the switch hot output (Blue).

The scheme they're using is unusual, with the neck pickup hot wire always connected to the output. Having a hot wire that's always connected can sometimes cause background noise.

Hmm. Something isn't right.

Position 1 - Bridge HB
Position 2 - Bridge split
Position 3 - Both pickups
Position 4 - Neck HB
Position 5 - Neck HB

False alarm. There was a wire connecting pole 3 and 4 that I omitted from my diagram. I'm now working 100% Thanks!!!

I can't wrap my mind around switch wiring logic to save myself. Sometimes, I wish everything used a 3 way toggle.

I can sort of understand the Gotoh blade switches, but as soon as stuff is off kilter like a Fender 3/4/5 way, I start getting confused. The Schaller Super switch is an entirely different ballgame. You might as well call the ambulance. I don't understand the wiring in it.

Same here. I can follow a wiring diagram and can solder fine. No way I could just create a diagram from scratch. I’d literally pay to take a class to learn. YouTube kinda helps but not really.

Best explanation I can offer is on a Super Switch, the outer lugs are commons, meaning they are always on.
Then you have 5 lugs on each of the 4 poles, they correspond to the positions on the actual switch.

Usually, you use poles 1 and 2 for the pickups hot wires and 3 and 4 for splits, series parallel etc.

This article from Stewmac probably explains it better:

I noticed that when I have the switch in position 1 that if I tap the bridge pickup poles with a scewdriver that they're both on, which is right. But then if I do the same to the neck pickups I can faintly hear it. Same thing but vice versa in position 4. Is that normal?

I'm not sure tbh. How does the neck pickup sound when you play it? I'd go by the actual sound instead of a tap test.

Yeah then I think it's normal. I don't know the reason for it, but now that I think about it, some DiMarzios and pretty much all Lace Sensors are like that. Not loud when tapped on but they sound fine when played. :idk:
