It's obviously good because it's Trevor Rabin and he's a really high caliber musician.

But it's also very predictable especially if you were familiar with his Yes years.

I mean,




It's pretty much a re-write of The Calling, which is almost years old.
Granted, he wrote both songs so it's not plagiarism but it's pretty much the same sound, style and close in tempo and chord progression. I learned the riff for the new song and played it against The Calling and they work as counterpoints to each other. Even the vocals sound like Jon Anderson.


But again, it's good. Rabin is a phenomenal musician. There is no bad Trevor Rabin music.
But given the enormous compositional range he's had with his movie soundtracks, I'm somewhat disappointed the his first rock album in 30 years sound so much like what he was doing with Yes 30 years ago.

The Yes tracks still have an edge though, for having Chris Squire, Alan White and Anderson in them. Those are unfillable shoes in that style.

Re: his work with Yes. I still jam 90125 and Big Generator every now and again. Those songs and arrangements hold up. His playing on those is also stellar. And now I wanna blast Rhythm of Love.
