A ‘72 Traynor YBA-1 with matching 215 cab came up for a good price ($450 Canadian), so obviously I jumped on it.

Undecided if I’m going to leave it stock or gut it and build a Matchless Chieftain circuit in it.

Jeez, you never see these for that kind of price anymore down in the Niagara Region. The lowest I've seen lately was around $750. And we're talking just the head. I'd like to get one someday, but not for $750+. I've heard people getting great stoner rock tones with them.

Oh weird. They come up every few months or so in Saskatchewan for around $600, sit for a while, and then get snatched up (usually by me) for around $400. Then flipped on Reverb for $900 to someone south of the border.

I plugged this thing in last night, and it's in pretty rough shape. Pots are insanely dirty, tubes are shot, filter caps are toast. With how much money in parts and time I'd have to spend swapping them, it sort of sealed the deal that I'm going to gut it and build a Chieftain circuit.
