Maybe I just missed this along the way, but was not aware that Marshall was even for sale.

yeah... this was really out of the blue..... cue the insane prices for Pre-Zounds Marshalls

It's a necessary move in this century. Gibson and Fender had already reorganized under multi-brand conglomerates. Mesa recently joined the Gibson group. And I think PRS will also sell/reorganize soon. It's very difficult to stay competitive at a large scale without this type of infrastructure nowadays.

Hopefully this new group understands the brand and does it justice. We'll see.

The Scandinavians seem like responsible people.

This will most likely happen. It's happened to every famous company that sold or merged at some point. No reason why Marshall will be any different.
