Pickups, Effects, Parts, Guitars- Fender, etc.

Post by JonVengeance »

I'm trying to raise money for a custom guitar I'm having built so I'm selling off gear that I don't need or don't use. Feel free to negotiate on prices or offer trades. I'd rather have cash, but I may consider trades too. I have some references form Harmony Central and Rig-Talk.

I had over 2,300 posts on Harmony Central under the name JonVengeance: I've had good deals with the following over there: ShizzelDizzel, RG_76, DiscoJason, freehandarson, rockitsauce, Wolfbane20, RustyMetal

This is what I have:

1993 Fender american Standard Strat, the pickups were replaced with Texas Specials and a pearl pickguard was added. $620

Partscaster Tele: Warmoth Wenge fat neck, Mexican Standard deluxe tele body, stainless steel frets, GFS Gotoh style tuners, JB Jazz Neck, GFS lil Killer, med output bridge, $550.
Willing to part out.

Feel free to make an offer on anything. I'm unsure of what everything's going for right now.

On those I think $35 is the lowest I will go. They are brand new and unused (I did open the box to look at them, but they were never installed). The lowest I saw them on ebay was $47.

They are 3 Per side. They are from a Les Paul.

I will measure it when I get home. It was in the neck position of a guitar when I bought it so I'm not sure.

Questions - the Warpig set:
would you consider breaking it up
Ceramic or Alnico
Floyd spacing or standard

I'd be interested in the bridge, if its ceramic, and F spacing.

Thanks.

I know the bridge is ceramic. I would consider breaking it up. I think it's f-spaced since its in a newer Gibson and they are f-spaced now, but I wil check when I'm back home. I'm in FL right now.

The Iommi is big sounding, but the guitar I tried it in (SG Standard) sounded too massive. It had too much low end and wasn't super tight. It would probably be awesome for rock or doom metal.

Sorry I haven't been able to measure these pickups yet. I keep forgetting to buy a ruler to see if they are 50 or 53mm spacing. I looked for the info for the BKP, but the card I got only has the resistance listed and not the spacing.

I will let both of you know as soon as I find out.

Thoughts on the Iommi vs. the 498 in a flying v? For coverband stuff (rock, not metal)

I love the 498T so maybe I'm biased, but I think it's the much more versatile of the two. It doesn't have quite the output of the Iommi, but it's still hot enough. I play metal with it with no problems. It's crunchy and fairly tight with the sweetnes of an alnico pickup. The Iommi could do rock, fine also, but I think its less versatile. Also, the bottom end was a little loose to me.

You could compare the bridge (Warpig) to the neck. The neck is only offered in standard spacing. If they don't match up then the bridge is F spaced and we're good to go.

I measured last night and the the neck was 50mm and the bridge was 52mm (F-spaced). It was hard to compare the two since they're still in the guitar. I'll be taking them out of the guitar tomorrow most likely.
