Midnight Mass is pretty darn good. Other than the constant barber shop quartet rendering of church hymns. I get why they're there but I just don't want to hear it. Otherwise; good stuff. Few episodes left. We'll see how it wraps up.

Started midnight mass, only an episode or two in. I'm intrigued but seems like a slow burn so far. My girl thinks it's boring so I'll need to nudge some to get it back on. She also hated the two "haunting" series so that could be why

Yeah those two were slooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow af. This one is slow; but without the overload of family drama that those two series came with. Those seemed to be like wait 49 minutes for something to happen, jump scare at the end of the episode then trick you into going on to the next one :cop:  This show is like wait 38 minutes, do something then drag you into the next episode. I prefer this brand of horror to the ghost story angle as well on the other two. But could totally see someone having no problem dropping out early on.

Finished Midnight Mass. Enjoyed it, but jeez these shows would be so much better if Flanagan dropped all the self felating monologues from the scripts  :bor:

Goodbye Outpost. One of the most self-aware fantasy shows I've ever seen has had its finale. I'll miss Janzo and Munt. I'll even miss Garet and Tobin.

Most of all I'll miss Talon. And her ridiculously tight leather pants.

I will await the full box set and snap it up quicker than Talon brought her people back from the Plane of Ash. It'll sit on the shelf right next to my Mythica box set. The DNA is so much the same it's almost like they live in alternate takes of the same universe. I hope something else comes along to fill this niche. Self-aware comedic fantasy with real, believable stakes is so hard to get right, but this series nailed it.

Curb your Enthusiasm just hits me all wrong. The wife and I made it to the episode with David Schwimmer where everybody was freaking yelling over the top of everybody else and we both just went, "nope. That's enough." And we never went back to it. While it had some funny, it was mostly just watching Larry David be Larry David, which is the 1/3rd of Seinfeld that you can get way too much of. If Seinfeld had literally just been George Costanza fucking up his life constantly without the other weirdos, it never would have been worth watching. That's what Curb feels like to us.

Bob's Burgers is crushing it this season. Gene freaking out about getting older and joining the toddlers' group was hilarious. Tina's description of puberty destroyed me. We had to stop and rewind about thirty times because we cracked up and missed follow-on jokes. That episode was damn near Letterkenny level frantic with laugh out loud hits.

Me and the wife definitely jumped off early. We enjoyed the other two but this one didn't keep us engaged. We just read how the show ended online

Squid game was awesome and thoroughly enjoyed it. Just started Ted Lasso S2 and that show is awesomely funny

Finished up Shameless and Squid Game yesterday.

Shameless's finale was a bit of a let-down. So many balls in the air. Like, I wouldn't mind seeing how everything is eventually resolved, but I suppose they did that on purpose so that if they get the urge they can sprout spin-offs for each couple and/or Debbie wherever they end up going. I'd rather they reach a conclusive end, happy or not, but whatever.

Squid Game choreographed season 2 so hard you could practically hear the writers room fapping under the table as he walks back down the ramp to the terminal. Aside from that, it was a good show. The only problem I have with the premise is that I really doubt when that shit starts going down that it will be some secret society type bullshit. We're only a couple steps away from full-blown PPV death matches for reality TV now. All it'll take is the right set of executives setting up death waivers and we're off to the races. It reminded me a little of that other death for entertainment thing where people played russian roulette on live TV. Though at least in that show the execs had a bit of a moral breakdown as it was happening.

Fun premise at the very least for a gore fest. I really dug the glass hopping thing. I was telling my wife that you can see the difference between tempered and not tempered glass if the lighting is right right before the show went into that. Don't know if you could with as dark as that room was lit, but if you had some form of flashlight you could nail it every time. The games and settings were very cool. I'm torn as to whether I want to see another season or not. I think they did well with what they had, and could have done without the setup for a follow-up. But that's what TV does. :idk:

Ted Lasso - Roy Kent is my spirit animal.

Watched the first episode of the new Dexter last night. It was...okay. Not sure I'd keep watching it, but my wife really wants to watch it, so I guess that means I'll finish watching it too.

The dude that plays Roy Kent does a fantastic job. Brett Goldstein, I think his name is. The accent he uses with the copious amount of profanity is just...*chef's kiss*

Season 4 of Dexter remains one of the best seasons of any television show, ever.

Ted Lasso takes a couple episodes to get going IMO.... but if British humour isn't your thing then I could see this not working out for you..... I find it a pretty solid mix of Brit humour and US humour really.... but as the characters develop it gets much better

Started watching S2 of City On A Hill with Kevin Bacon. 1st season was great for that Law and Order with Kevin Bacon thing. S2 is the same. Good stuff if you want a little more grit to your typical NBC style cop drama.
