Metalocalypse is returning. Brendon and Cartoon Network are in talks about exactly how, but the new leadership at CN has made it abundantly clear that they thought getting them off the air was a huge mistake and they aim to rectify it. There's already a declaration they want a "soundtrack album," so everybody brace for Dethalbum IV.

That music was perfection as they were finally getting a little sumpin' sumpin'.

God damn, I want Serena to get some o dat. She played a crucial role in setting all that shit up. And even though she suffered a bit under the rules she herself put into play, she hasn't suffered near enough.

Best comment I've seen about the episode so far: "Hey! Serena has ten fingers again!" I literally cracked the fuck up.

I'm guessing June is off to lead the resistance or something? For sure she's leaving Luke. His bullshit stance of, "just get over it, because you should get over it," would have made me beat the shit out of him too if I were her, but leaving him's gonna have to do I guess.

That may be the longest slow-burn with a satisfying wrap for a character in television history. I also liked that they did the callback to the words scrawled in June's closet way back when after. This show is finally getting cathartic. About time.

I'm sticking to my hope that next season will be the last. Praise be and all that. Last night was some cathartics that have been needed for really 2+ seasons. June walking around seething is great but you get desensitized to it after a certain point. Some Hannibal influence is good for the show

True story: When she started doing the glance down, then stare at the camera with rage thing at the beginning of the episode I almost shut it off. It's a great emotional investment the first four hundred and seventy five times we saw it. At this point it's so cliche you'd almost expect them to spend the whole episode doing nothing BUT that. Which was my expectation when they did it for a few minutes straight with literally nothing else happening.

Thank dorg they pulled it around. My wife is all in on it anyway, but my patience was running thin this season aside from June ripping Serena out of her self-worship bullshit for a moment.

Latest season of Dave and Mr InBetween started on Hulu. Dave is, well; Dave. Some funny stuff. Some ridiculous stuff. Very irritating character in general at the moment. Will see how it goes.

Mr. InBetween is awesome. Excellent show. Gets going from the jump and is chugging along quite nicely. Such an oddball blend of violent crime, humor and some nice drama you don't expect in a very low key sort of way. Highly recommended.

We just finished No Offense which is a British cop drama with some solid humor. Watching Trickster on Amazon which is pretty cool.

I too am glad that the Commander finally got his ass handed to him, I honestly am so sick of the June character, her face, her acting, etc that it's become painful to watch. Honestly Aunt Lydia is my favorite overall character.

Season 11 of Supernatural. God has a sister. And she's a bit of a bitch.

"Everything I created, she'd come along behind me and destroy it."

I also love the setup of the soulless prophet. That's good TV right there.

Chuck's rendition of "Fare thee well" was fantastic. That's always a highlight for me. Dude's band is legit, for hipster driven indie pop. Louden Swain for those interested. Not my usual, but nice. (/Captain Hammer)

Late to the party but started watching Invincible with the boys over the weekend. Was very pleasantly surprised! About almost halfway through it. Great writing and cast and I dig it quite a bit. Interested to see what J. Jonah is actually doing :hmm: Not sure if it will be a one and done for me but looking forward to wrapping it up and seeing where it lands.

Started watching Too Old to Die on prime. Refn does his own True Detective thing. I guess? Such a weird director. Killer visuals and soundtrack but the most stunted and slooooooooooooooooooooooooow dialog and pacing ever. I really dug Drive but that's about it from him. It doesn't help that each episode is 1.5 hours long. I will give this another episode or two. John Hawkes is in it and he usually is a great addition to whatever he's in. We'll see.

^It was really good. I'll watch a second season and I have gotten to where I don't usually say that about superhero stuff. TV at least.

Kept working on Too Old... What a odd, slow series with some very, um; questionable activity. I am thinking they probably didn't air this after Murder She Wrote Sundays on CBS  If you dig Refyn; give it a go. Otherwise; watch at your own risk. Too slow for some.

Been watching a few things. Jett on HBO. Carla Guigiano (I KNOW I am spelling it wrong). Burglar doing high profile jobs for mafia heads. Good stuff so far, not too demanding and good flow.

Binged Dr. Death. Alec Baldwin and Christian Slater make the show basically. Great team. Dawnson's Creek kid puts on some weight and plays a god complex psychopath surgeon. His portrayal as well as his "best firiend" is more than a little cringey but Slater and Baldwin make up for it. Mostly.

The problem with quality television is that, for some reason, it takes the truly great shows four years to put together a whole season. Meanwhile the absolute dumpster fire level garbage that serves as time filler gets churned out year round without season breaks. And for whatever reason, the general audience just laps up whatever shit gets slung into the trough rather than seeking out older and/or better quality shows. Which is particularly galling when you can find so much quality shit through the same streaming services they're using to watch the filler trash.
