Synth GAS Got Me Again

Post by maggotspawn »

Ordered the EXB MOSS card for my Triton.
Also more RAM for sampling and the SCSI card for it. Oh yeah, also the Dance Extreme EXB card.
I'll be needing the SCSI card to run it with a Zip drive, because I found out the floppy drive is screwed. I'm alright with that because I got it for pretty cheap, but it still sucks. There's a hack to install a CF card reader in place of the floppy drive that I may do in the future.

Broadly speaking, a MOSS tone generator program
consists of voice, EG, LFO, effect, and control
sections.
The voice section contains an oscillator and a filter.
— The oscillator provides two oscillators (1 and 2),
which can use thirteen different oscillator algorithms,
including Standard, Ring Modulation, VPM, Resonance,
Organ Model, and Electric Piano Model. The
oscillator also provides a sub oscillator and a noise
generator.
— The filter provides five types of filters (two filter
systems), including a Human Voice Filter that lets you
simultaneously set two center frequencies, and a Dual
Band Pass Filter that lets you simulate the body
resonances of a violin or guitar.
Five EG units and four LFO units can be used to
modulate this voice section in order to create timevarying
movement of pitch, tone, and volume.

Don't get into modular synths they will suck your bank account dry. How do you like the Triton?

I really dig it. It's been a while since I had a hardware synth. Pile of manuals to go through, but it's a cool synth.
