I find I like Strat type and fixed bridges better then LP bridges. But I want a short scale. Maybe I'll compromise with a PRS type guitar lol. I also really like the Darta Blackheart and DFZ pedals on here.

I have 2 PRS SE guitars. I have a CU24 SE, and a CU24 SE Floyd. They are great guitars! I got a Duncan Custom/Jazz in the regular one tuned in E, and Fishman Moderns in the Floyd tuned to C#.
Re: SS Posse
I played a couple of em, before GC closed. They felt great. Man I could not find those two pedals for sale in the US. I think i'll get another guitar first lol.
Re: SS Posse
All my tuners suck ass. I can't get the intonition right with any of them. I'm ordering a turbo tuner. I think I asked this Q a while back, but if I put all 16 ohm speakers in my cab, I won't have to change anything right? It would just be a 16 ohm cab instead of 8. I can find 16 ohm speakers cheap all day, but not 8. This cab is just 8 ohm mono like a Marshall MG. Nothing fancy.
Re: SS Posse
You still like this head? I like the demos i've seen. Nice cleans and hard rock distortion. How does the clean take distortion pedals.Yarbicus wrote:Just bought a used DV Mark GH (Greg Howe) 250 head. Love it so far so I'm in the posse now.
Re: SS Posse
So what have you guys been up to? Man every guitar I have tried to buy has either been sold out, or on back order forever. Its like when covid hit, all left handed guitars sold out. So the only new things I've gotten, have been strings and picks.

Sorry I missed this! Returned and bought a Peavey Ultra.
Definitely a cool amp but ultimately not for me. Cleans for days but only OK with dirt pedals.

I have just been in a building mood. I have built around 15 or so pedals this month, lol. Mostly clones of different OD pedals. I finished clones of the Savage Drive, Duncan 805, Precision Drive, Naga Viper, Green Rhino, Plumes, Swollen Pickle, Buxom Boost, Timmy V3, Sonic Maximizer, a Yamaha Bass preamp, Diezel VH4, VFE Ice Scream, a footswitch for my Peavey XXX, and a Dr. Boogie. I think that is all, lol. I might have missed a few. I am also still finishing clones of a TC Int Pre, Warden Compressor, Big Muff Op Amp, Space Spiral Delay, and a Mu-Tron Phasor.
I want to do some more, but many of the IC Chips are out of stock until "whenever they are available". In the future I will probably build more weird effects or such, because I have so many freakin drive pedals I cant imagine anything new doing something different, lol. Maybe more delays, or choruses or something.
I also finally modded my Jet City JCA100HDM to SLO specs including a proper usable loop. That amp has been a lot of fun to play lately. It is quite a bit different now.
I kind of build stuff in binges. I also hooked up my Katana head yesterday and updated some of the sounds. I hadn't played it in several months. That is a killer amp also.

Re: SS Posse
Damn dude lol. You gonna be a hoarder building all that stuff. Where do you get the parts for your builds? I quit looking at amps to get another guitar, but guess i'll look at amps again.Shask wrote:HELSTRUME wrote:So what have you guys been up to? I have a big shelving unit full of pedals, lol.
I build them all the time, but just kind of go through binges every now and then. I usually get parts at Tayda Electronics, Small Bear Electronics, or Mouser Electronics.
Re: SS Posse
I've been looking at the Katana heads, and I might just get the 2 version. I like the way you can set it up with the footswitch. And I like how I can put my eq in the loop.

You dont really need the EQ though because it has one built in.
I plugged mine in the other day and updated some of the sounds. First time I have used it in awhile. It is a great amp.
Re: SS Posse
Yea but if I plug the amp into my comp, i'll never play it lol. I'll just tweak.

Just plug it in once, tweak your 8 sounds, and then unplug it, lol.
I actually just plugged mine in last week for the first time in a year or two to update some sounds.
Re: SS Posse
I'll just download other peoples patches lol. Either i'll get it, or some low watt tube head. I just wanna get something i'm gonna keep for a while. I can't become a gear whore again

Get an EVH 5150 III 50W. Great all around amps that would work well for just about anything, and I think you would keep it.
Re: SS Posse
I do like the EVH stealth head. That thing rocks.
Re: SS Posse
Man I almost never get time to play online anymore. So what have you guys gotten lately? Call me crazy, but I still have the B-52. I tweaked it with the EQ pedal, and have a pretty decent low volume distortion. I played and listened to a ton of pedals, and I might get either an Empress heavy, Okko Dominator black or red, or a Klirrton Oh my Goat. Even the Grindstein rocks. Pricey pedals, but they all sound great. Eh, we'll see.

I havent got anything. I built a crapload of pedals over the summer, but then I started a new job while still having my part time job. The last few months I have been gone about 14 hours every day, so next to no time to play.
I did finally get to build 2 Zuul Noise Gate clones last weekend. First thing I have built, or got new, in the last couple of months.
Re: SS Posse
Man that sucks. I did that for a short while, and its not worth it to me. You have money, but no life.
Re: SS Posse
Man stupid input on my head broke. Figured I will replace it with a new one, and prob sell it. Think I will either get a Katana head, or 1x12 combo. I just don't want to get the head, and it sound horrible through my cab lol. Watched tons of vids of people tweaking distortions for different bands, and I think I want one to play with. Some of the tutorials are just great. These guys most have spent tons of time with the software. Guess i'll see what speaker people like with their heads. I like the new Blackstar silverline also, but a lot of people said they are not reliable. We'll see what happens.

The katana's are great for grab and go, versatility, realibility and good decent tones especially in band mix. At home i tend to not play through the katana much as i have other amps i prefer the tone better. Even my tech 21 trademark 30 little combo i play a lot (sitting right next to my computer) sounds better to me. Marshall DSL50 through splawn 2x12 cab sounds worlds better! With that said i have been happy and impressed with the katana. I've gigged tons with it and it has worked great.

Replacing an input jack should be pretty easy and cheap.
Yeah, the Katana is pretty cool. I have had the head since they first came out. If you use the boosts and EQs you can dial in all kinds of tones.
I have been thinking about what gear I would like. I have tons of gear, so I don't really need anything, lol. I have been having fun lately playing in stereo, and slaving amps into other amps. I think the thing that would probably make the most difference, but probably the least cool, is a good 412 cab. I mostly have 212s, and the 412 I have is in another room and not the greatest. I am thinking about ponying up for a Mesa Recto cab or something like that. Something nice that will make all my amps sound better.
Re: SS Posse
Yea, the Recto cab was the best sounding one I ever owned. If I get the Katana head, i'll probably just get another cab.
