Recording Boss Katana via USB

Post by Gately4795 »

Hello all. I’m just dipping my toes into the recording water and am hitting a bit of a snag. I’m playing a Boss Katana 50 MKii via USB into a computer with Audacity as my DAW. The output volume is exceedingly low no matter what I do and the only remedy I’ve seen is using the amplify effect which, while bringing the volume to an acceptable level, adds an exorbitant amount of hiss. Any suggestions?

Honestly, while technically the Katana can record through the USB port, it's not the best solution. The port is more to be used for updates and control with the Editor etc...

I'd get a simple audio interface for your computer and connect the Katana via the line out to the interface. You will get better results and more control that way.
