New Harrison Console Mixbus DAW

Post by ajaxlepinski »

Came across this:
https://harrisonconsoles.com/site/mixbu ... 548IpGWk8k

Looks very basic but, could be a good option to Reaper?

EDIT: comes with an expander demo that can be purchased.

I like the looks of it. NOBODY has probably used them in real life. For the money, it looks like it could be worth it.

That said, I have no issues with Reaper. It suits my needs just fine.

I guess, if you already have Reaper, no reason to switch. This could be good for someone new to recording?

Here is a list of plugins:

This allows you to evaluate their performance, and share your sessions with other Mixbus users who have not yet purchased the plugins. An unlicensed Harrison plugin will fade to black when the control panel is opened, and will not respond to mouse clicks after a few seconds. To enable the control panel, please purchase a license for the plugin at http://harrisonconsoles.com/site/store- ... ugins.html

I need to see if I can update my VST's in Reaper.

I think it looks like a good DAW to have as a alternative to Reaper. For the money, have both. I bought my copy of Reaper a couple of years ago. That $60 paid for itself off long time ago.

I have been using Mixbus for several years now. It is great software that adds a cool sound thanks to the DSP running on it. It isn't as easy to navigate like Tracktion Waveform or Reaper, but the DSP gives a cool sound to it.

They have two forms, Mixbus and Mixbus 32c. The 32c version has more EQ options per strip and more busses. Both are good, but I prefer 32c for the extra processing with DSP. The downside to 32c is that you need a certain pixel rating on the monitor for it to look it's best on screen. Too small, then fonts and buttons run into each other.

You should definitely try the demo :thu:
