Saturday evening music recommendations

Post by Ice Aak »

Don't know if it's appropriate or not with a thread like this. I have "discovered" (meaning I heard a few of their songs on a local rock radio station) a Danish rock band called Volbeat and would like to recommend two songs that could lighten the mood on the king day of the week, the mighty Saturday. The music is a bit commercial, think Elvis mixed up with The Offspring and something heavier... I have no idea if the transatlantics have ever heard about them but I like the tunes and thought I might share. The singer has got some nice pipes, and I think one of the former Anthrax guitarists has joined the band. Let's see if the links work....

Their vocalist does the most annoying Hetfield vibrato charicature. Can't stand this band.

They're somehow worse than 5 Finger Bro Fist.

(Funny that people always use the "great pipes" line on the grating singer from Alter Bridge too. To each his own.)

I don't mind Volbeat. I saw them live a couple weeks ago and they were pretty damn good. My gf, who isn't a huge fan of theirs but knows their music, said that "they sound just like they do on the radio"...True story.
