I'm new here but have an acoustic question

Hi everyone,

My question is more around acoustic amps that can support singers. I currently have a Loudbox 1x8 and a Bose L1 compact. And I play a Taylor 616ce.

The amps I have are great for the small groups with a single singer and guitar. But was wondering if anyone has suggestions on what's the next level for gigs around 500 people. Been looking at the Marshall AS100D, Bose L1 Model 2, Boss Acoustic Singer, etc. the market seems to have so many choices and price points. Each of these amps sound really good up close but then there is feedback, clarity and of course just shear volume to deal with in larger groups.

End result is I would like clear rich sounds for both the guitar and singer, with probably some voice effects like harmonies thrown in. So does it matter more about having more speakers, or is it purely a wattage issue?

Just curious if anyone has been down this path and has learned a few more tricks of the trade.

The bose l1m2 is a level or two above the compact. I'd be surprised If it could handle 500 people, best have a word on the bose forum. There are quite a few systems that are similar in design to the bose, worth checking out.

+1 for the Bose.
I saw Uncle George Kahumoku and several other musicians, perform with the Bose PA and it sounded awesome. The room had about 300 in the audience.
One of the Bose speaker columns is visible on the left side of the photo. I was really surprised by how much sound came out those skinny speakers!
Uncle George (far right) won a Grammy and is an exceptional, 12 string, slack key player.
