hi there!

Post by mystixboi1 »

Hi there… excited to be on this board. I am a total gear nut… I’m currently on Mark Wein Guitar Forum, The Gear Page, RigTalk, Sevenstring.org, jemsite, strattalk, jcfonline and a few others. I’ve been playing guitar for almost 30 years. I buy and sell quite a bit owning over at least 200 guitars in the last 10 years or so. Right now, my main guitars are an Ibanez Andy Timmons and PRS CU22.

I’m a dad of 3(4 year old boy and 2 year old twin girls).

Prior to dadlife, I was a gigging musician that played in different bands that ranged from singer/songwriter to Faith No More to the Black Crowes to Bon Jovi.

My main influences are:

Kotzen
Vai
Nuno
Timmons

Here is a link to my music www.johnmendozamusic.com

Thanks!!!

Yes!!! he is my absolute favorite right now… his tone and phrasing are inspiring. I got to meet him at a concert he had in philly last year. Totally nice guy…. Talked to people before and after the gig. He even signed a guitar I had brought with me.

Oh yeah, he's the coolest. Humble, down-to-earth & approachable. Very cool he signed your guitar. I 1st met him at Paul Gilbert's Great Guitar Escape guitar clinic in 2013. Jammed with him & received playing advice I still practice to this day. Also chatted with him for about 20-30 minutes or so before a show at the clinic.

I went to his show last October at the Iridium in NYC with our bassist and he remembered me saying, "I remember you, my lefty brother. I see you have some gigs coming up, I've been watching you on Facebook. I'm keeping an eye on ya!" How cool is that!!! Bassist's jaw hit the floor, couldn't believe how cool AT is. Awesome player, even nicer human being. I'm a fan for life.
