Hi all! Good luck with the forum, Billy.
Alex Harvey - he died too young but is worth checking out if you've never done so. Here are some YT videos to get you going.
The music can sound a bit dated, since he was doing well in the seventies, but his raw passion is hard to compare. Boston Tea Party is a great satire, and the green guitarist in the video is too cool for words.
Alex comes from the time when gigging meant lots of heavy boxes and what would now be called basic gear. What he did with that gear is basically poetry set to rock music.
I actively seek out similar antidotes to poncy modern commercial music so I'll be back soon with more for you.
First up, a track called Next:

This one's a riot. Over 12 minutes but give a full run:

Sorry, no Facebook, no Tumblr or other such drivel. If you want to follow me you'll have to try very hard indeed. I walk extremely fast.
Re: Alex Harvey - perhaps the first punk?
Yep, I posted those same vids many times to HC; I used to listen to SAHB when I was in my teens. Zal Cleminson ftmfw.
You anted up a narcissistic boil and a conniving witch. Thanks America. Signed, the world.
