Congrats! Sounds amazing! No need to mod a Marshall between this and a few good pedals!

Yeah I'm not super happy with this demo

It sounds cool but low volume just doesn't do this amp justice. I need to make a real full volume demo at the practice space.

Vid sounds great. Core tone intact obviously but just more juice on tap. Perfect for the task at hand.

That's the gist of it. I need to get a clip of proper core tone of the amp. This is turned way down and attenuated.

Billy, that sounds great. I have a 2204 (Ceriatone based) that sounds great, but doesnt have nearly the gain I need. I'm not a huge fan of relying on a pedal for gain, but I do like them for tightening an 800.
Do you think this Hot Mod would do the trick?
I dont really want to mod the amp itself.

Looking forward to your next demo vid of this Hot Mod.

Yeah it will be perfect for that. It adds the gain without changing the tone or raising the noise level.
I suggest going with the Lynch version so you have more control of the gain level.

I have a Ceriatone 2204HW and the Hot Mod. It definitely gives you that extra. I boost it with an SD-1 as well, and it's exactly what I want/need. Killer amp too.

Awesome, man! I've seen a handful of mods where people drill a hole in the side of the chassis to add a tube for an extra couple of gains stages. this takes care of it without any of that shit. Aces, man. Very cool. Sounds great!

I hooked up the Hot Mod V2 EVO to my 1979 JMP 2204 today. I put both of the Hot Mod switches in the down position. Tubes were a JJ ECC81 (12AT7) on the left and a JJ ECC83S (12AX7) on the right as recommended in the instructions. I tried the switches in the different positions. Ultimately I took it back out...gave me more gain, but at the expense of the overall bigger sound the amp has. It wasn't an overwhelming change in that regard, but enough for me to decide against it. I can definitely see why some people love these things though.

Yeah I haven't triedthe V2 but the Lynch version has the knob to dial in the balance between the mod and the stock amp.
I can see only having a switch being an issue.

The Switches down are the stock positions, not off. The switches up are more bottom end and more gain. The more bottom was too woofy sounding for the 2204 and the gain up was too much hum. The whole thing adds to the hum of the amp though even in the down positions...not that that's that big of a deal though.

Yeah we're talking about 2 different products here. I'd suggest trying the Lynch version because it goes from off to full gain. It also doesn't add any noise.

Alright...just got a used Lynch Mod unit that was made with the regular red housing (which I prefer since I'm not a graphics guy...not that it matters with this since it's hidden within the amp).

Thanks for the push, Billy...hopefully this works out.
