Dave trying EVH Balance style riffing
I'm having issues mixing so I tried having one of my tracks mastered. I'm not sure if it cured the bass issue or not, but it seems to have helped.

I used the EVH Wolfgang for both parts. The rhythm is all OCD - Deluxe Reverb - Captor - H90, while the lead is the same thing but through my Dr Z.
For the rhythm part I used the Micropitch on the H90, while the lead is all Shea's Halo Delay and Reverb patch on the H90.

Re: Dave trying EVH Balance style riffing
Sounds killer man!! So since these amps have no loop, I assume the H90 is in front of the amps?
Or are you putting the H90 after the Captor?
Eddie always had his amp loaded down and ran the Eventide after the whole amp, so the Captor would be a good way to do that.
Either way it sounds great. These clips have been giving me crazy GAS for the H90.

Re: Dave trying EVH Balance style riffing
Yeah I’m running the amps through the captor then running the line out in to the H90 on my desktop and stereo out to the interface.
Really similar to Eddie’s old setup.

My original mix was really bass heavy. It’s like I couldn’t get it under control at all.
I cut it pretty drastically and ran the track through one of those free mastering sites.

bass can be a pain in the ass. its definitely not overwhelming in this mix though

Thanks bros
I think it was a case of eq’ing and shit with my eyes instead of my ears. I still have a ways to go to get to your level of recording, Race. You and endtime have that pro sound

Right now I’m using my Mexi jazz bass thru my Mesa walkabout direct in to my interface.
So to “fix” my issue I shelved the bass real hard instead of running a preset jazz bass eq preset. Next time I’ll try re-eq’ing the amp itself.
I’m thinking one of the kids must have fucked around with my bass amp eq and fucked up my normal sitch

Nice! Good stuff and tones!
That micropitch “stereoizing” effect is legit fun to play around with and of course in the room if you have the 2 stacks(I know he used 3 w/d/w) but with my Poss PS-6 and it’s micropitch split stereo is seriously some of the most encompassing tone to play around in. I’ve been lazy and haven’t broke it out in a bit, so I think I may just do that!

Thanks man. You're not kidding, it's super addictive to use lol. I need to check out the Boss version as well, and I vaguely do recall you talking about that one in the past.
Once i sort out my JCM900 I will setup a W/D/W rig just to see it's full glory haha
