I want something that does NOT have an entire band. Just a dude with an acoustic singing in his heart out.
I've got plenty of country and bluegrass but today I want more of a singer songwriter type of feel. I'm currently listening to Nick Drake.
Sad part is I think I maybe had 6 beers last night? I'm getting too old for this shit.
I'm hung over. Recommend me something acoustic.

My favoritist:

Robb Flynn is one of the gods of guitar in my mind. He ain't the biggest, fastest shredder, but chops for years.
Six beers is hangover territory? You need some more practice.

Paul Westerberg-Mono/Stereo
The acoustic half of the album will blow you away.
Also, Richard Thompson-Beeswing, 1952 Vincent Black Lightning, Waltzing is for Dreamers.
All amazing songs. Plus, he is one of the best guitarists walking the earth. Claptons favorite as a matter of fact.

That was pretty feckin' cool. Machine Head is one of those bands I haven't really explored yet.
As for the six beers... Yeah its pretty gat damn sad. I'm not crazy hungover or anything, but I am rocking a sweet headache.

Ah, the beer headache. Those suck donkey balls.
Strangely enough, I was all over Vio-lence back in the day, but never listened to a single Machine Head song until a couple years ago. (Robb was in both.) Once I did I was like, "WHY DID I NOT DO THIS SOONER?!" All the style of old thrash, modern production values, some better melodies and such.
Plus, Robb tells his children bedtime stories made up by breaking the Star Wars movies into 12 parts each and spending a night acting out each of those twelve parts, making all the sound effects and different voices himself as he goes. (Saw this in an interview. He did a James Earl Jones/Vader voice that was scary accurate.) Robb's a bad motherfucker that's a goofy nerd at heart. So much for him. I may be sportin' a little man-crush here. Or a big one.

I'm a huge thrash fan but have never been able to get into Machine Head. I think the last few albums have been decent, but some of the songs just drag on for me. Also, the nu-metal stuff they did in the 90s was terrible and I can't stand Robb's voice.
